Tuesday General Session
While Monday’s General Session was packed with exciting innovation announcements and intimate conversations with members of the Duro-Last® leadership team, Tuesday’s General Session offered a behind-the-scenes look at our commitment to quality with Director of Research and Development Mary Koutras. Mary shared her passion for polymers and how her team of quality experts is not only raising the bar for quality standards at Duro-Last, but for the single-ply commercial roofing industry as a whole. She even brought everyone's favorite lab test to the big stage, demonstrating the power of Duro-Last PVC against an open flame — well, a digital flame at least!
Following Mary’s presentation, decorated Olympian Jim Craig took center stage to share about his journey as the powerhouse goaltender who, against all odds, led the 1980 U.S. hockey team to an improbable run to the gold medal, including an upset against the juggernaut Soviet Union in what is now known as the "Miracle on Ice." Jim's insightful keynote presentation transformed his playbook for success on the ice into actionable strategies for Duro-Last contractors to take home. From how to build stronger teams, stay resilient under pressure and win when it matters most, the audience was energized, ready to take bold action and lead with integrity.

The session also celebrated outstanding achievements within the Duro-Last family. DCA Commercial Roofing claimed a three-peat victory as the Roofing Challenge champion! Additionally, Billmans Cool Roofing Co. was recognized with the 2025 Metal Roofing Project Award for the USCG Bauer Building 544 in Petaluma, California, while Damschroder Roofing earned the prestigious 2025 Project of the Year Award for its exceptional installation at Minerva Middle School in Minerva, Ohio.
