Monday General Session

Making his National Sales Seminar debut, Duro-Last® President Darren Schulz kicked off a morning full of exciting updates and celebrations at General Session. Both new and familiar faces took turns sharing the stage to dive into a variety of topics including Duro-Last’s complete custom experience, sustainability initiatives, operational enhancements, metal product growth, insulation solutions, engineering services, marketing and branding as well as exciting product announcements.

News and product announcements from Monday's General Session:

  • Throughout 2024, more than 250,000 pounds of aged Duro-Last membranes were recycled through the Recycle Your Roof program, equal to 1.3 million square feet. Additionally, Duro-Last will continue to pay transportation costs for recycling tear-offs in 2025. 

  • Duro-Last's newest manufacturing facility in Kernersville, North Carolina, will officially open Q1 2025. A ninth manufacturing facility, located just outside of Phoenix is on track to open in late 2025.

  • EXCEPTIONAL® Metals is re-launching metal fabrication operations in Carrollton, Texas. Additionally, metal fabrication operations are being expanded to the Kernersville, North Carolina, and Phoenix facilities in 2025.

  • The new and improved EXCEPTIONAL Metals visualizer is launching soon and features state-of-the-art AI technology to map out roof and wall surfaces on user-uploaded images. This free tool offers yet another opportunity to make your proposals stand out with building owners.

  • The Duro-Last insulation team has officially launched the Tapered Design Division. This specialized in-house group focuses solely on tapered insulation designs, improving turnaround time for even the most complex projects.

  • Duro-Last now stocks our full line of insulation products at facilities across the country, allowing for all components of a roofing system order to ship together.

  • Tim Sieczka, Duro-Last Director of Engineering, introduced Duro-Last's new Quick Reference Guides, now available on the Contractor Portal. These guides provide quick access to assembly options based on deck type, showing material options for each layer.

  • Andrea Fisher, Duro-Last Director of Marketing, unveiled the newly launched Duro-Last website, featuring a fresh feel as well as new search features and tools that provide for a faster and more informative user experience.

  • Erica Farver, Duro-Last Senior Business Manager of Roofing, announced the Duro-TECH™ TPO line of products, including Duro-TECH and Duro-TECH Fleece membranes, custom accessories and TECH-Bond™ adhesives.

  • Duro-Shield® Silicone has been reformulated for greater performance benefits and now features four primer options to meet a variety of substrate needs. Additionally, Duro-Shield Silicone now offers a labor and material warranty, featuring 10-, 15- and 20-year options. 

 

Five contractors were also recognized during General Session for their outstanding work over the previous year with Project Awards. Kelly Roofing received the 2024 Custom-Fabrication Project Award for the Twin Dolphins Condominiums in Naples, Florida. JBK Commercial Roofing received the 2024 Sustainability Award for Girdler Elementary School in Girdler, Kentucky. B&M Roofing received the 2024 Metal Roofing Project Award for Clement Elementary School in Autryville, North Carolina. Technical Roofing of St. Henry received the 2024 Specialty Membrane Award for The Delco in Dayton, Ohio. Finally, Brandle Roofing & Sheet Metal received the 2024 Edge-to-Edge & Deck-to-Sky™ Award for Greater Midland Community Center in Midland, Michigan.
